Back in 2000, I ran an eBay auction. While the Lakester is a cool casting, it doesn't have a large fan base. I paid $15 to feature it on the front page of the Hot Wheels section with a simple title description of " ~ ~ ~ green turd ~ ~ ~ ". It got about 1800 page views and amazingly achieved $20. Just enough to cover all of the listing, closing, and PayPal fees :)

It was also when I was first beginning to learn how to build webpages. Looking back, it is nice to see that I have learned a little bit since then. Flash glare on the package, over-lightened images, varying widths of the pics, horrible abuse of font size and color, and text wrapping around the screen. What a rookie!

While my skills left much to be desired, I still get a chuckle out out of it. The auction was listed with the exact text, images, and email contact addresses as shown below. Thankfully, I got several emails of appreciation and no emails to the complaint address. It is also interesting that the Sudster, which came from the "Scum Chums" Action Pack, wound up being more collectible than the Treasure Hunt Lakester!
