Kickback

It was time to make some more startgates. I use 7/16" thick poly-carbonite plastic. Very hard stuff that can stop a baseball and not break. I was cutting the last piece 5 1/4" x 6" when the tablesaw kicked back the plastic. At the bottom is where the blade grabbed the material and you can see how the piece was thrown by the blade.

Unfortunately, tablesaws spin towards the operator, me! Man, this hurt! This injury is 1 1/2" long, 1/2 wide. Thankfully, it missed my ribs. An inch higher and I'm sure I would be in much more pain!

Yes, I was using safety equipment. Hard plastic tools to keep my hands away from the blade. The material was thrown so hard that it spun right away from my pusher. Here's proof positive that I my business is my baby and I invest a lot of blood, sweat, and tears...
